Akira Yamanaka Architects (AYA) is a London-based architectural design studio founded in 2015 by Akira Yamanaka, a RIBA chartered architect. Akira has extensive experience, especially in the fields of sustainable housing, schools, theatres and community buildings.

The Tokyo-born architect graduated from the Architectural Association School of Architecture in London in 1997, and honed his expertise working with leading architectural practices in the UK for 17 years before establishing his eponymous practice.

AYA offers their design expertise with a design process incorporating the most advanced digital design technologies, hand sketching and skilful craftsmanship, to achieve functional, sustainable, aesthetic and economically viable design solutions. 

Adopting a holistic approach and drawing inspiration from multicultural influences, from traditional British architecture to Japanese spatial concepts, Akira Yamanaka Architects sees architecture as a means to improve communities and create a better way of life.
