Pierre Schwab's Renovation Project as Photographed by Thierry Favatier

Our partner architect Pierre Schwab from Atelier T's architectural studio is based in Malakoff, France. 

The architect carried out a complete flat renovation in Paris, France. To showcase this project, the architect got in contact with the photographer Thierry Favatier. 

Through these renovations, the architect wanted to create an airy, totally open space for the living rooms, in a style that mixes contemporary and traditional elements. The flat has a contemporary, modern structure with a very simple and uncluttered central island. However, the layout of the flat is decorated with traditional elements such as the TV cabinet and the dining room table. 

The space has been organised around a large central island which is both a shelf, cupboard and dividing wall, in order to optimise the space taken up by the furniture. This island breaks up the space between the dining room, the living room and the kitchen. The latter also has a tiled floor, while the rest of the room has a parquet floor.

This ample living space is also bordered by large bay windows offering maximum light. As light can only enter from one side of the flat, the wall has been fully utilised to provide views of the outside. In this project, the architect was able to mix several styles in order to meet his client's requirements, while at the same time optimising space to the maximum, which is crucial in a flat.
