Founded in 2002, W-Architectures is an architecture, design and urban planning group that offers a team of architects with broad international experience. Christophe Maisonobe, partner and managing director of W-Architectures Swiss, is based in the Canton of Vaud, where he takes part in developing the firm’s understated, simple and precise vision of architecture throughout Switzerland. With offices in both France (Bordeaux, Toulouse, Tarbes and Paris) and Switzerland (Lausanne), the firm has built a name for itself over the years for its originality and exacting standards of their work. Their approach is rooted in a carefully structured thought process to provide a rigorous logic to each project and bring the essential to light.
The firm’s international reach, along with its proven expertise in architecture, urban planning, restoration work, museography and design, has enabled it to design projects of various natures, from single-family homes to large-scale cultural projects.
W-Architectures is responsible for prominent works including the restoration of the Villa Leihorra, on the Basque coast in France, construction of the Jean Durroux housing development in Foix, winner of the Occitanie architecture award in 2011, and the Musée du Verre in Sars-Poteries, a building officially designated a “Museum of France”. Regularly published, W-Architectures’ work has received recognition and acclaim from international critics on multiple occasions.
