DEA LAB Architecture & Research is a multidisciplinary architecture, design and urban planning office that is based in Brussels. The agency was co-founded in 2009 by Shiraz Ben Dakhlia and David Erkan.
The studio operates at the crossroads of research and architectural practice.
Indeed, the two founding members are actively engaged in academic research in parallel with their architectural work and are both specialised in innovative practices and digital design as well as manufacturing techniques in architecture.
With this expertise and the international experience of Shiraz Ben Dakhlia and David Erkan, the office has, since its creation, been at the initiative of a wide variety of projects, furniture design and interior design, collective housing, single-family houses, work spaces, renovation and conservation of historical and urban development.
Their approach is mainly focused on the added value that architecture brings to a project. Whatever its nature, program, or size, these architects pay the same amount of attention to detail so that each project is the result of a deep reflection, with the hopes of creating an extraordinary design.
David Erkan and Shiraz Ben Dakhlia stand out for their creativity and their unique way of rethinking spaces and layouts in a way that is sustainable, evolving, flexible and adaptable for future use. These architects have a particular interest in incorporating sustainability, ecology and recycling in all their work.
The DEA LAB Architecture & Research architecture agency is multilingual, allowing it to undertake projects in Belgium as well as internationally, thanks to an extensive professional network in the United Kingdom, France, Spain and Tunisia.
Shiraz Ben Dakhlia and David Erkan look forward to meeting you and offering their expertise to your architectural project! Contact the DEA LAB Architecture & Research office now and bring your project to life during a first appointment!
